e–Government

Background

UAS supports e-Government programme roll out in the country. This support has accelerated broadband connectivity to health facilities, schools and government programmes, thus, improving service delivery to a larger population that is mostly digitally disadvantaged.

Objective

To facilitate broadband connectivity for health facilities and schools; and government-wide connectivity for future e-government projects and programmes using the most efficient last mile technologies with broadband access and a minimum speed of 4Mbps.

Status

The programme planned to connect 16 health facilities and provide 22 laptops for ICT for Education. The programme exceeded its targets and met the Key Performance Areas in that under this programme 55 health facilities were connected; 10 specialised laptops were procured for students with special needs and 1755 laptops were procured for ICT in education programme.
